Review on πŸ–₯️ StarTech.com 2 Port KVM Switch - Dual Monitor DVI/VGA with Audio, USB Hub - Efficient Screen Sharing (SV231DDVDUA) by Brian Delgado

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Useless junk constantly losing keystrokes in half the time sends 50 extra times.

I have bought several of these and am writing this review as I am looking for a different brand of Revain. how often it sends repeated keystrokes. No stuck key, the DVI box sends extra characters. The missing character error forces you to constantly backup and correct the missing letter. A stuck key removes half a page of code or mangled you in a variety of other ways, such as: B. by sending 50 BackSpaces, turning pages or function keys. The units I have do it. There are 2 options on the helpful StarTech website: Decrease the key repeat duration, which doesn't work and is only there to save the time you want to repeat e.g. The second solution is to remove the keyboard from the box and plug it into the USB port only. The problem is that your USB port is wasted, and the keystrokes that normally switch between computers (ctrl-ctrl-1 and ctrl-ctrl-2) don't work on a regular USB port, making the device even more powerful in one respect becomes unusable. Crazy, shameful, a huge waste of money! Stay away! Look for another junction box!

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model
