I decided to try these because they are a few inches shorter; However, I found they hit my calves unfavorably, so I brought them back and stuck with the slightly longer version. As with the longer ones, the fabric is surprisingly light on them - they don't feel like yoga or a workout. Capri pants - perfect for wearing in the pool or on a hot day at the beach. However, they offer a sense of coverage, so they aren't so light that they appear brittle or transparent. protects really well from the sun.
