Let me start by saying that I have been an avid consumer and user of Cerave products for a very long time. Most of my facial products are from Cerave. I was incredibly excited when they launched this product as the photos they used to advertise it showed that it was used for darker skin. I'm a brown woman with warm undertones, early 20's, no major sunspots, combination skin (or normal) and no fine lines or wrinkles (for reference). Here is the product description: Protection: The product protects well from the sun - protection cannot be denied here. I found this due to the fact that I have mild acne that is irritated by exercise or direct sun exposure - I have not experienced this with the Cerave product. Viscosity and Color: The lotion itself appears darker in color than the lotion. the usual white color you get with other sunscreen products. The tinted lotion gave me hope at first. The lotion is a bit heavy and doesn't feel light. Instead, I would describe it as applying a thin layer of petroleum jelly to the face. To say that this was an "easy" formula in my opinion and experience just wasn't true for me. Applications and more: Finally, a general overview. I tried it in everyday life and even used the product during my workout. Suitable for training? Absolutely not. The product hardened and got into my eyes. The pinkish white it cast on my face rolled off and looked like one of those smeared lines of paint on a wall after you sprayed it. I have to give Cerave the benefit of the doubt as they don't state that their product is sweat proof, but it should be noted. When I applied this product it left a pinkish white glow on my face. Nothing like the color that was in the tube when you first opened it. Not to mention it left dry, blotchy patches around my face. Keep in mind that I'm moisturizing and using the following serums, so the sunscreen shouldn't have dried out my face, but it did. I mean, the fact that the product name is supposed to be "Moisturizer" says a lot about how this sunscreen is advertised. have a darker complexion. Also, if you're a fat or sweaty person, this probably isn't the best sunscreen for your face. I'm not saying the product doesn't work, I'm saying it's not for me and I wouldn't recommend it for people who have more melanin in their skin. While some will condemn and dismiss the fact that I gave this product 2 stars because it didn't work for me or wasn't 'made' for me, I have to counter and say that Cerave has used models with darker complexions and created the illusion that it was for darker skin. So I'm giving it a total of 2 stars.
