I opened it, it sprang right to life took maybe 10 minutes to fully fluff up, 30 for the pillow top to fluff. Don't let the fabric fool you on measuring thickness. The fabric colors do not indicate what is pillow top and what is foam it's just a design. The foam really is 4" thick. I sat on it cross legged and usually my back hurts when I do this, but no pain. I laid on it to test it out, and felt all my muscle tension just melt away. I cannot wait to sleep on this. It took literally 5 minutes to set up from sealed box to fully on bed and strapped to mattress. Great product!
