I modified the power cord to use the on/off switch and SAE quick disconnect connector for my battery because I didn't want to run power to my cockpit - I did one that is easy to install and remove depending on the season. When I go somewhere, I open the hood, turn on the switch, lower the hood and go. It only takes 10 extra seconds, so it's worth it. It lights up great, is very festive (always wanted one), looks decently weatherproof and works well. Happy with it and it was a fun little power mod project to make it more portable.
