I'm a bike rider and I've been trying for a long time to find a way to stay safe while staying connected. I've tried many combinations of helmets and one-ear bluetooth devices, wired headsets, etc. But none of them worked that well. But Sena R1 is my dream. It's a comfortable helmet that allows me to listen to podcasts and Google Maps driving directions without covering my ears. And what's most important to me, it allows me to make hands-free calls and calls. Sound quality isn't great for music - the speakers are positioned over the ears (so you can hear the sounds of the road better) and are heavy on the mids and highs, like an old-school phone. But this sound is ideal for voice calls and podcasts with lots of dialogue - the words are easy to understand. Best of all, when I call from this helmet, people tell me that I speak clearer than they've ever heard (a phrase I never thought I'd write), even better than phone calls. So if your goal is to stay connected on the road, this helmet is just great.
