While the size and price of this lens cannot be ignored, its quality and versatility also stand out. I usually post photos, but there are already plenty of photo examples. Pros: Image quality is excellent and paired with the A7RIII I've been able to get some really great shots. The build quality seems very solid and my replica lens seems to be very good (which could indicate Sony's quality control). The zoom ring is quite strong, which prevents lens creep. It's nice to have the zoom lock feature if you need it. Nice and sharp wide open and throughout the zoom range (At the end of the zoom range you can see the difference wide open but the photos are still very good) - After shooting a little with this lens and taking about 100 shots, very few of they were left with some chromatic aberrations. In the post I just had to correct it on a few photos. Cons: The size and weight are pretty significant, taking pretty much any size advantage that a mirrorless A7RIII could have over another DSLR. Wire so you don't get the same smooth feel of the focus ring. - While the A7RIII has IBIS, I'd really like to see image stabilization here for value and size - speaking of price. $$$Conclusion If you're looking for a professional lens and don't mind carrying it around, then this lens is for you. Extremely sharp for a zoom and correcting any chromatic aberration or lens distortion was easy to handle in Lightroom. If you want standard zoom on your Sony mirrorless camera, this is a great option.
