Worth the price!

I just LOVE this lens! It has the quality of a premium prime lens but the flexibility of a zoom. I can't believe the sharpness of this lens! The only downside is that the lens is heavy. I am an avid outdoorsman and outdoorsman and use the Peak Design Gripper Clip; but wherever you put the lens, it pulls. BUT it's better than having multiple lenses. I didn't notice any vignetting at 24 or chromatic distortions.

Sony takes quality one step further!

Just switched from Canon A9 to Sony. This is my first Sony lens. The build quality is really good if it feels like a tank, like a Canon counterpart. It's a bit more expensive than Canon, but I think it's worth it. Focus was fast and accurate, and very quiet when shooting video too, which is a bonus. The only downside is that the front is heavy with my camera, but this could be remedied with a battery grip in the future.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Bad instructions

Image quality zoom lens

I use primes almost exclusively. I usually only use Zoom for video interviews or running videos. In such cases I have mostly used the Sony/Zeiss 24-70 F4 FE. For everything else, like portraits, landscapes, and art videos, I used prime numbers because I prefer the best look over convenient zoom. This 24-70mm f/2.8 lens is the first zoom lens in the Sony system and I can use it for almost any scenario. It's ridiculously sharp and renders images beautifully. It focuses on the a7rII very quickly…

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than other models

A zoom lens that performs better than some primes

While the size and price of this lens cannot be ignored, its quality and versatility also stand out. I usually post photos, but there are already plenty of photo examples. Pros: Image quality is excellent and paired with the A7RIII I've been able to get some really great shots. The build quality seems very solid and my replica lens seems to be very good (which could indicate Sony's quality control). The zoom ring is quite strong, which prevents lens creep. It's nice to have the zoom lock…

Everything people are saying and more!

Sony has really set a new precedent with its GM glass and it really shows. Somehow they figured out how to achieve all desired optical qualities in the zoom that can be achieved with a very good fix. What. The bokeh is also pleasant and very usable. It's great that I don't have to carry 5 lenses with me everywhere and run the risk of getting dust on the sensor when changing them. It's also nice to be able to concentrate purely on photography without having to worry about the equipment. I've…

The photos are so good that my colleagues asked me to share them.

Firstly, the photos are so good that my colleagues asked me to share the details of my new lighting setup. All I did was replace the Sony A7II kit lens with this lens and shoot with it instead of my Canon T4i with a 17-55mm f/2.8 lens. He's beautiful and sharp. I usually shoot at f/2.8 or up to f/16. One thing I noticed is that when I switch to f/16 the color of the image changes completely and the distortion at the edge of the frame gets completely out of control. That's why I'm waiting for…

  • Finally bought
Cons
  • Too long to wait
