First impressions count, if I saw this set in store I would shy away. However, if you enjoy shopping at Dollar Store, you may not be so critical and concerned about the quality. The scissors are half the size of children's school scissors and of poor quality. I've attached a picture comparing it to the Fiskars for kids. The mushroom plug arrived unglued but came back together and was sealed with wood glue. Includes multiple thread colors and a set of blunt needles. As a result, I received a darning egg. Before I start sock darning, I buy the best needles and quality thread. My 10 year old niece might like sewing thread and needles.
