You will receive a carry bag and a non-slip mat. The backpack is quite big, you can fit a lot of things for the trip in it. It fits 3 medium-sized suitcases, 1 tote bag and 2 smaller bags. With all of this we had to add some pillows and blankets to fill and make it more square when tying. On the way back we were able to add a few more things that were given to us. The bag is made of strong and durable vinyl material. It held up well on our trip from Texas to California and back. We have gone from very hot weather to cooler, rainy spells and back to warm. The carrier held on. It rained in both directions. Everything in the bag was dry. Nothing was damaged and not even slightly wet. We had no problem with rain while driving, but water did seep through the straps when parked or idling. Since we were rested and in a safe place by then, we unbuckled the straps and the leak stopped. We didn't use the straps that came with it. We purchased ratchet straps which made installation easier and helped keep the roof rack on the car better. The original straps are plastic hooks that snap tightly together. We weren't sure if they were the strongest for our particular trip. In general I can recommend the bag. This helped get rid of the clutter in the car and gave us the opportunity to take the necessary things with us when traveling. We bought a small strong security padlock to keep it locked.
