Both the stand and claw mount are terrible for this fan. All fasteners are plastic, which causes the screw used to tighten the cam mount to break on first use, rendering it completely unusable. Why Vornado didn't use metal for any of the fasteners I don't understand, it's just a really dumb choice. The tripod worked fine but the fan cannot be adjusted without loosening the screw that holds the fan to the mount which is just an annoyance as the screw can stick pretty badly as everything is plastic. The actual fan works fine and I only use it without the stand now as it's much simpler but not worth the price. Very disappointed with this fan. I bought one of the big Vornado fans and it's a lot louder than it is and doesn't move the air as much. If you're looking for a fan, don't take this. Try one of the other Vornado fans or any other brand that uses metal where it's needed.
