It works . AK59-00179 that comes with is not
You'd think Samsung would replace hundreds of 00179 models due to quality issues - battery contacts bend, causing the remote control to stop working. but they didn't even acknowledge it. The simplest solution I've found is a replacement. It works great. While not as slim and sleek as the remote that came with the Samsung UHD 85xx player, the traditional layout and use of AA batteries on this remote is a welcome "upgrade" to an otherwise very good 4K player . Also great response to this order. Got it on Prime. Delivery in less than 2 days.
