I love these thick no show socks. They have some compression around the ball of your foot and arch. They have multiple silicone grip lines in the heel to keep the socks from slipping into your shoes. I've washed them and thrown them in the dryer and they are NOT shrinking, shrinking. They'll be nice and snug, but quickly regain the shape of your foot. I'm glad they actually do what they say they don't show and are appropriate for athletic shoes. However, if you find that your laces and tongue on your shoes irritate your foot, they may not be right for you. They go too far to fully protect your foot from tongue/toe abrasion. For reference, my daughter and I wear size 8-8.5 shoes.
