I use this gate to keep my bedroom door from taking my dog to the cat food and litter box. This means that the gate will be raised and, on rare occasions, will remain as good as raised. Bought it for the first time almost exactly 3 years ago. These gates held up until about a month ago, for no apparent reason I found a piece of plastic next to it when I got home from work. As the dog was in a cage I can't imagine what happened but this is the second time I have bought the same gate. For some reason it was difficult to make this latch with the correct hole size, but it works well enough for my needs. I hope this time a piece of plastic doesn't accidentally come loose!
