I've had a great toaster for over twenty years, but it was showing signs of wear, so I decided to replace it. The first toaster I bought came right back after I took it out of the box. It looked like a child's toy, so tinny and so light it moved and wobbled. I chose this toaster because of the wide base for stability and it was the same size as my old toaster. This seems lighter, not as stable and also unreliable. What else is difficult about making a great toaster? I will keep and use this one but it will never last as long as my old one. Also, they seem to toast ok, but I tried the bagel and it didn't even toast. I noticed that this looks like a complaint from others. I recommend checking out the toasters so you can pick them up and see the quality.
