Review on 🐱 Enhanced Access for Feline Friends: Cat Mate 4-Way Locking Cat Door by Christopher Sullivan

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Locks difficult to open

Pros: Good overall construction, cat likes to see through the door (she can get howling fights with neighborhood bullies without going outside), seal works well, magnetic closure works very well and the magnet showed no tendency to crawl out of the pocket. Installation is easy with the included template. Selective entry and exit restrictions are very useful, especially if you have a vet appointment in the near future. Cons: Locks are cumbersome and difficult to use, not a big deal if you don't use them often. if you don't have problems with finger strength (you'll need to press the middle tab while sliding the lock aside. It probably won't be too hard to change the locks to remove this feature). The actual locking part looks pretty flimsy, it's unclear if it will hold up when said neighbor bully throws himself on the flap in anger. If I ever find out I'll update this. Please note that a lock malfunction will not affect the main operation of the door. Notes: The operation is not silent as indicated in the description, a kind of knocking can be heard when closing the sash. The magnet is strong enough to hook the valve on the first pass. Attention: As stated in the description, this package is designed to be mounted on thin boards. They sell the same door with different mounting hardware for thicker installations.
