Mixed Feelings: Deodorant

I didn't want to try any other natural deodorant with baking soda as I've tried Primal Pit Paste in the past which left me with a horrible red scaly rash on both arms. However, I have used baking soda products in the past without any reaction, so I decided to give it a try. At the moment I have mixed feelings about this product as it has its pros and cons. Pros: + Good odor control. I walked through the theme park for over 9 hours and could only smell a faint sweat which is the least you would expect after so many hours of walking. + Good moisture control. It's not an antiperspirant, but it helps retain moisture, which helps reduce odor. + Pleasant smell. I prefer clean, earthy, and woody scents to floral and sweet ones, so I really liked this one. It definitely smells strongly of citrus, but it wasn't overpowering and the smell dissipates a bit after the first use. Cons: + My biggest dissatisfaction is the consistency. It does not apply smoothly or easily even after heating. The deodorant sticks together, forms streaks and seems to stay on the skin. It seems to absorb better over time, but lumps still remain on the skin. Even trying to rub it in with your fingers will leave more product on your fingers than your armpits. + It is not suitable for tank tops / sleeveless / little black dresses. I avoid anything that would expose my armpits as the absorbency is very poor. It doesn't stain clothes yet, but it also leaves streaks on clothes, so it's definitely not an invisible solid. I will probably not buy this product again. I'll use what I have left, but go shopping. If Mountaineer fixes the consistency to my satisfaction, I would happily buy it again.
