I bought this hand knife instead of an electric knife because I read reviews about knife accuracy control and now I understand why they said so. I've used it to peel apples and it does a relatively good job, although it skips a bit at times and doesn't peel about 2/3 inch from the top or bottom of the apple. Because of this I still have to use a paring knife to finish peeling an apple but with this peeler and apple corer/slicer the job of prepping apples is less time consuming and a lot easier. Medium-sized apples work best. I also used a vegetable peeler after the apple was peeled and kept turning it so the blade reached the core to make apple "spaghetti" which made it a fun way to eat an apple.
