Both dogs and humans are very happy with this jacket. I did a lot of research but ultimately settled on this jacket based on the following criteria: - The jacket should cover both my dog's shoulders and hips (his main arthritis spots) - Most quilted style coats didn't cover much of their shoulders - The jacket needed thermal insulation. for warmth, not just protection from water - we live on the Northern California coast; It doesn't get very cold out there, but we can feel that wet, dank chill seeping into your bones, especially when you're an aging, arthritic dog in a coat. Head and chest of a Great Dane on legs and hind quarters of a Black Labrador. Needless to say, his body parts don't always correspond to a specific size. I ordered the 7XL and although it's a little tight in the chest, it fits well (for reference, she's 80lbs with a 34" bust and 22.5" back). I should point out that this is not a jacket that you can just throw over your dog - the sleeves are actual sleeves that your dog has to put on and take off. This can be a problem for hyperactive dogs or dogs like mine with limited shoulder mobility. However, my old man loves wearing his jacket so much that he now sits patiently while I gently slip his hands into his smart new outerwear. He also attracts a lot of attention with his new look, which of course he likes. Four paws up! PS - Please do not buy animals. SAVE UP! Thank you!
