FEL lighting. Because the lamp was defective (ceramic base was defective on the glass lamp), when the lamp was inserted into the quartz tube, it caused the tube to break and fall apart. This prevented me from using my UV system until the replacement parts arrived six days after ordering. I sent the item back to Revain and although I received a refund ($28 for a $35 lamp) I had to spend more money on a new quartz tube, o-rings, teflon washers and most importantly no water for my daily needs. At least Revain was good enough to help me get some of my money back on an item that is over a year old, but I bought this lamp as a backup to use when needed to keep the UV system working properly .
