Be careful what you use it for. Using these spoons to stir your coffee is better for the environment than using plastic, in my opinion. However, because the spoon is flat, it cannot be used for soup or anything else that requires a bowl shape at the end of the handle. Another question is what it consists of. I see that many of the new disposables were made from bamboo which is very durable, I don't understand why they had to cut down birch trees instead. So you're better off than plastic, the price seems reasonable, and as long as you're not looking for that spoon to hold something, you're fine.
