Holds heat well. Regular plastic caps don't fit the head as well, so I feel like deep penetration products penetrate better. The foil-like material allows more heat to escape, allowing the cuticles to open wider. The material is starting to wear off a bit, I've been using it for about a month now. So it will probably take a few more months. The brown you see in the cracks on the lid is my wood floor to give you an idea of what I mean in terms of wear and tear.
