This appliance was purchased to replace the high range microwave/fan combo. First, let me say that I'm sorry if you have one of those combination microwave and range hoods in your home. Get rid of it asap. Mine blew dirty dusty air back into the kitchen for 3 years before I finally did anything about it. My kitchen has a full duct through the roof so why was it designed to blow air back into the kitchen? I think it was cheaper and/or easier when the house was built. Cosmo QS75 changed my world. Going from a long range microwave/fan to this thing is like going from a KIA to a Mercedes Benz. In my opinion, the modernization is fully justified. For less than $300, adding this beautiful range hood to your kitchen is a steal! LEDs produce very bright white light. Not the orange glow that most incandescent bulbs give off. It's at least 5000k. Now my wife can see what's in the pot on the stove. The fan has 4 speeds and level 4 - suction tornado! We use levels 1 and 2 for cooking and hardly smell what was cooked afterwards. Our test for this was cooking Easter ham for 3 hours at a time. I no longer smell dinner in my bedroom and try to sleep 4 hours after cooking. The stainless steel breather filter system is really good. I haven't had to clean it yet, but I think it's easy. I plan to soak mine in Dawn and then give it a light scrub if needed. My only issue at the moment is that the LEDs behind the front panel seem to be shifted too far to the left, preventing some of the buttons from fully illuminating. There are also some very small holes that let in blue light where it should be black. None of these issues affect the functionality of the device, so I'm not overly concerned. I'm just not sure how this one got through quality control. Bottom line, I still love this thing! Installation can be tricky as it is in a hard-to-reach place. Make sure you have someone to help you with this. We chose not to take the stove out because we didn't want to reconnect the gas line. I ended up having to lie down on the plate and lean against my back to screw in the top screws. Make sure the bottom of the cabinet has boards in all the correct mounting holes. That didn't happen to me, so we had to install two layers of kicker boards and screw each layer into the previous one. You can see the whiteboard used on the last mounting level above the hood. This will fit in perfectly when we paint our cabinets, which is our next project. In general, the installation took about 3 hours.
