I bought this for my son's guinea pigs thinking it would be easier to clean than bedding. At first everything was great and I was very happy, but then I noticed that her fur (especially our long-haired white guinea fowl) gets dirty faster than usual. At this point I realized that bedding helped keep her clean and too sucked up her potty habits. Of course, this is the user's fault, not the product's fault. Since guinea pigs cannot be bathed often, I had to change tactics. Now I put a thin layer of paper sheets on top of the rug and use the rug for extra absorbency and ease of cleaning and it works great for me. The rugs are easy to machine wash and the 2" x 4" size is perfect for your home.
