I bought this (rectangular bowl) strictly for instant ramen, and I mean no frills, brick and water, and then popped it in the instant microwave. And for that purpose, it's the most perfect instant microwave container I've ever had. You might think that a bowl of noodles goes better with ramen - you'd be wrong. I have one too and it's great for soups, but a ramen brick won't work unless you break it into pieces. At this point, you've missed the point of faster ramen, which is the calorie-to-effort ratio. A rectangular bowl barely fits in two standard ramen stones 90% of the time. Fill it with water so the water barely touches the top of the bricks, close the lid, make sure the vent is open, microwave and (for me) microwave for 6 minutes. Let it sit for as long as you like for the ramen to soak, and then it's ready for the flavor packs, but the cooking is done. That's all. Two rocks with some effort, maybe water, a lid, a microwave and you're done. I would have preferred it to be just a few inches longer so I didn't have to push the stones in occasionally, but other than that it worked for me every time. I ordered it again because I stupidly left my old one after moving, it holds up and is very easy to clean. If all you want to do is make no-frills quick ramen with two stones at a time, a rectangular bowl is all you'll ever need.
