I've used Flitz nail polishes from time to time my whole life. When I bought my first little whistle in the 80's I remembered that it was a bit more aggressive than semi-chrome. Now it seems to be basically the same. An extremely fine abrasive, so fine it actually claims to be "non-abrasive". Something totally non-abrasive, like RenWax. There is always the question of ammonia. I've never used a liquid polish before, so I can't say, but this paste MUST contain ammonia. The smell is strong and obvious, like a bottle of old unflavored Parsons Ammonia in a bottle. Bad thing? no But the ads are confusing. The Flitz website says it leaves a protective wax film. So buff it up, get rid of the black deposits, go back and wipe it down with a clean cloth, especially if buffing is an intermediate step. You can use 90% rubbing alcohol or denatured alcohol to remove the film. Does what it is advertised to do at the same time. Clean and polish? Damn it is you! Everything I've tried, although not as fast as Semichrome. Just a dab, I mean DAB. Very small amounts at a time. 2.5 pounds of this stuff? Unless you treat cars every day? It's literally for life.
