I have used solar wave generators. Nothing but trouble. I had 2 in my 125g African cichlid tank and they worked great for a while. Then they started to load heavily. 1 came out and after 2 weeks the second was so loud I was scared for my fish life! I pulled it out and started looking for another brand that won't break the bank. I found this water clear. Good price so I bought 2 of these. Very impressive! I plugged them in and from the start they are much quieter than the sun. I've only been riding for a week so I can't say how long they will last. I will update if there are problems. I like the design. Much more flexible. They can point in many directions. The magnet works too. I highly recommend this wave generator
