Here is a brief description of the shoes: 1) Great shoes, great fit, very comfortable. I don't know how other people recommend buying it, but regardless of the shoe size you usually get when you rent bowling shoes, you get for it. I mean I usually wear a size 13 but my bowling shoes are always a size 12 - I'm a size 12 here and they fit great. 2) Sliding on them is great for learning the right step. My knee hurt from not being able to slip in the rented shoes and it made bowling almost uninteresting. This helped fix the problem. 3) If you play hemispheres regularly, they pay for themselves. We go Tuesday nights and the shoes are 2.50 to hire which is 40 (rounded up) so it pays for itself in less than 4 months. This is a worthwhile investment. Conclusion: If you need your own pair of shoes, this is a good choice. UPDATE: It's been about a year and a half since I bought my first pair of these shoes. I bowled 2-5 times a week this year (regular leagues, tournaments, practice and recreational) before they finally stopped. My new pair fit perfectly. A notable difference in the new pair was that the rubber outsole was shinier and more resilient than the previous model. I have found that it is easier to control slip when the deck is smoother than the first pair. I still recommend this style of shoe.
