Review on Tetra Whisper Repair Kit for 60 and 100 Air Pump - Durable and Efficient Solution by Krista Johnson

Too simple not to be good for fish and aquatic animals

When you're caring for your aquarium and fish, eventually you'll need to either overhaul or replace all of your vital air pumps. Larger pumps used in 50 to 100 gallon tanks can be costly to replace. Fortunately, if you choose to use Tetra dome air pumps, Tetra sells excellent kits to rebuild their pumps. The recovery process is not difficult. If you can tell which end of a small Phillips/Phillips screwdriver fits your hand, you can probably easily get the job done in a few minutes. After switching off the power supply and disconnecting the air hoses, simply loosen the four housing screws countersunk in the pump base. Carefully separate the top from the base. Take out the old parts. They are pressed in place and slide out easily. Note the relative position of the holes on the back panels of the old assemblies: new assemblies must be aligned in the same way. Carefully install the new assemblies, paying attention to the o-rings to ensure they are properly seated in their grooves. The kits come with a new air filter gasket and I highly recommend replacing the old one for now. Just pull out the old one installed at the bottom of the pump body and insert the new one that comes in the kit. Assemble the upper and lower case halves, connect the air hoses and reconnect the power supply. You should now essentially have a new pump thanks to these quality little kits, and you get a significant savings compared to replacing pumps with new units.
