Yes, they shine. Not very bright, but don't expect them to be as bright as a glow stick. I can't tell you how many times we've dropped our remotes, so these cases really protect against breakage and help us identify which remote goes with which TV. All three of our cases fit the remotes perfectly, no problem pressing the buttons.
