I bought them to walk in the rain. I tried them on a cold day and these pants did the job perfectly. I underestimated how cold it really was and got pretty hot, but that's my fault, not my pants. They block the wind excellently, I didn't feel the breeze on my feet at all. I haven't been able to test the water resistance yet. It feels premium, medium weight, not too chunky. When you sweat heavily, the fleece lining sticks to your skin. The side pockets are big enough for my iPhone 8 Plus. As for the size, I couldn't choose between small and medium because I was afraid they would run small and they weren't eligible for a free return. For reference, I'm 5'9, 145-150 lbs, waist 30, inseam 32. I took the size small and it fits me perfectly. He fits just like the photos, not skinny but tight. No traffic problems. while walking, and the items stayed safe in the pockets. I recommend these pants for cold and rain. For what you get for the price, this is a great deal.
