wrench fits my 2014 Avalon 3.5L. Unfortunately it cracked as soon as I applied pressure (and couldn't detach the cartridge). Should have used a 3/8" socket instead of a 3/8" socket, but it could have snapped even then. Revain has been great about returns. Looks like I'll buy a $25 wrench instead. If you have a cartridge that hasn't been overtightened the last guy, this wrench may work, otherwise it's not recommended.

As others have said this works great. We no longer get free oil changes on our Sienna, so I take that responsibility. I have tried everything to remove the filter element but to no avail. The slots on the edge of the tool engage the cartridge's "ears," and with the help of a 1 1/16" socket and a long 1/2" pry bar, I was able to easily remove the cartridge and replace the filter . I'm glad I found this at Revain Prime and was able to complete my oil change.

I was able to use this and tried to remove the oil cap with this tool with a 3/8 ratchet and it nearly broke the oil filter wrench. I had to use a big N key on the end of the tool to get it working. So be careful when using this ratchet tool. Edit: Reused for the 3rd time and the end of the 3/8 jack is finally exposed. I'm not sure if the car I drove had the oil cap over tightened. It also stretched and got stuck in the oil cap. I will not buy again. Change to another brand

If the filter housing has been installed with a force of 25 Nm (18 ft/lb) or less, this product is fully functional. But if some idiot twists the body to infinity, then yes, this tool can break what others have complained about. The tool is not to blame. You must remove this abused case with a giant adjustable case. Then place it in a vise and remove the drain cap. Then install it properly with a new filter and gaskets. After all, don't let idiots work on your car in the future.

I've been using a typical TOY640 oil filter wrench for 5 years, it fits much tighter into the oil filter housing. I wanted to try this type because it had sides that matched the slots in the case. It's much easier to use as it snaps onto a 3/8" extension and doesn't require an outlet to use it, but it doesn't fit into the case as well as the other. All metal, possibly solid aluminium. I used it to remove the OEM filter. But it failed. The OEM filter must be screwed in with infinite torque. That thing will keep slipping off the filter. For this reason it failed. Then I checked the internet and they tell me to put a piece of paper between this and the filter. I don't think it would have been possible to remove the filter without this tool. I think those who depend on housing would not survive or possibly give up housing. The dealer screwed the filter too tight. I had to use a 1/2" 18" pry bar to remove it. Even then I was wondering if I would have to buy a cheater. Revised with update. The seller contacted me and asked me to rate the updated version of this oil filter wrench. I agreed and they sent me the latest version (July 2019). This is a much better product and I would recommend it. The original version of the key was a lightweight piece of aluminum that broke instantly. The updated version is made of steel (a magnet sticks to it) and is much stronger. I tested it and couldn't break it (much more than removing the filter) in the torque range I tried.
