Firstly, it is not soft enough for 3 month olds who cannot use their hands yet and are slapping their faces with whatever they are holding. This may be for older or more advanced 3 month olds. Second, I bought it because it says the sterilizer is safe, but when I read the instructions that came with it, it said only teethers are safe, rattles are not. After all, it is not soft, if the child hits himself with it, it will be very hard and painful. I kept it away from my child that might give it to her when she is older and able to hold things and have full control over her movements.
