What a Difference!: Dogs

I've been carrying this bag on the back of my Crosstrek for almost a year now and WOW! I cannot express my gratitude. We have a Labrador/Husky mix that sheds carpets of fur and almost never raises the back seats to drive further. Prior to this cover, we detailed the car almost monthly to keep hair out of the seat cover, even with the seats folded. Since installing this case we've only had to clean the back once and there was almost no hair! I've bought different cases to compare and the BarksBar liner was by far the best. This liner has a non-slip backing that practically stays in place, and the quilted top is lightly rubberized so it catches hair before it can fly around the car. It's big enough to create a small "lip" on the sides of the back compartment, so it won't come loose from the edges even if our pup scratches the lining before lying down. The trim panel attaches to the rear seats with a buckle and continuous webbing. If I could improve, I would ask for two buckles on the strap instead of one. Sometimes when we have to raise the seats, I find that the buckle floats toward the center of the seats and I have to climb into the car to unhook it. A buckle on each side would mean I could detach the trim from either tailgate without even getting into the car. It's a minor flaw and shouldn't deduct a star, but definitely a quality of life improvement for version 2.0! Pets aside, we've worked hard with this liner. We travel frequently and this liner has been exposed to sleet, beach sand and lots of clay mud on our boots and gear. It wipes off very easily with a damp cloth and still looks as good as the first day. I'm tempted to use a different liner than carpet in our house! Verdict: When you consider the need for "lining material" for your small SUV, you can't beat this one. It's rugged, dependable, and good-looking enough to be mistaken for the manufacturer's original equipment. Your pets won't tear it up, your gear won't get dirty, and your packages won't slide on it. It's worth every penny.
