I used these cleats for the first time a few weeks ago in a combination of icy and snowy conditions. They were fairly easy to get on my boots and the traction was great for about the first 20 minutes. After that, ice built up under and around the cleats to the point where the cleat tips were only protruding about a quarter of an inch. I wasn't on a very severe incline so I felt fairly safe, but if I had been on a really steep slope I don't know that these would have been adequate without cleaning these ice from the cleats.
