What else can you expect from a sub-$100 Amazon tablet with a keyword-packed title? Let's find out, shall we? Overview/Use Case: I regularly run Dungeons and Dragons sessions as a Dungeon Master and wanted something to display maps, character sheets, etc. This tablet is great for this type of use. However, I will go into some details. Hardware: This tablet looks pretty good. It's flat and thin, and its form factor makes it easy to find a case. Charges from a standard micro USB slot. The included cable is pretty awful, but that doesn't matter since most of us already have a ton of micro-USB cables. To be honest I don't want micro USB cables anymore so I threw away the cable that came with it. Cameras are crappy but perfectly fine for video chatting and other things. Headphone jack, SIM and micro SD slots are a plus. The screen is a bit, shall we say, catchy. Your finger will get stuck on it badly. Connectivity: The absolute biggest downside of this tablet is the WIFI. I have a google fiber with gigabit internet speeds. This tablet's WiFi card only supports 2.4GHz WiFi. No 5GHz. No air conditioning. I ran a speed test and got 20mbps down and 30 up. This thing suffers a lot in terms of usability for high-resolution streaming and downloading, but for my use it doesn't really matter since I'm basically just downloading and opening PDFs. Software: This tablet has only Android phone distribution. You can recognize it by several things.1. Everything is scaled a bit more as if it were on a smaller phone screen. So you have weird big app icons.2. Some apps, such as Google, are locked in portrait mode, which is very strange for a tablet screen with a standard 16:9.3 aspect ratio. The keyboard is the keyboard of the phone. If you want to type on it, I recommend a bluetooth keyboard or download a "hacker keyboard" from the play store. Objectively speaking, this tablet is inferior at best, but you know what? You don't need a Surface Pro or iPad to read eBooks and PDFs. This attractive little technology has a purpose. do simple things. Do you want to use something cheap as a kiosk? Take this pill. want something to read Buy this tray. Want your kid to be able to watch scary YouTube videos? Do not take this tablet. Just take your little one with you to the park or somewhere else. In summary, this is a fun junk pill that I still love very much.
