Okay, I had my doubts. I'm a bit "old school" when it comes to lightbulbs. But frankly, it's getting hard to find replacement bulbs. So, with some trepidation, I ventured into the newfangled arena of non-incandescent bulbs. And wow, I'm glad I did that. Two big advantages: 1) they're brighter with a more even light, and 2) they don't get very hot. I've used mine for a boat's engine bay and every time I can turn the heat source down it's a good thing. In general I'm now a convert and a fan. I've bought a few as backups if my remaining bulbs inevitably fail and highly recommend them.
