I am new to cycling and have ridden my bike rarely since I was a child. But recently I decided to give it a try for exercise. My bike had a very small seat and my friends told me to look for a more comfortable one, which led me to this one. I have to say my butt was still sore so I also bought padded cycling shorts which helped too. So I have no other places to compare. I would say don't expect miracles. It helps, but if you're a beginner like me there will still be some discomfort as you get used to cycling. I'll say I drive for an hour. If you drive less long, you may not experience any discomfort. In order for the seat to fit my bike, I also had to remove the bracket from the old seat and install it on the new seat. No problem, but when I first looked at it I thought it wouldn't fit.
