Review on πŸ”Š Get Together Duo by House of Marley: High-Powered Bookshelf Speakers with Bluetooth Connectivity and Environmentally-friendly Materials by Patrick Burns

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great looks, good sound, weird functionality

These speakers look very good and the sound is good if not great for the price but it looks like they're going through an identity crisis suffer: They wear them not knowing who they are or want to be. You have one speaker that charges via a USB-C input and the other via a regular DC adapter. Although both have wired inputs, there's no way to run a cable between them for lag-free listening (in other words, unless you're using your TV's two RCA outputs, presumably with an amplifier or splitter, you won't do with these wired). One has a battery so it can be used as a portable speaker, but it's not very big for that. All in all, the convoluted design choices seem like an attempt to be many things, resulting in none of things being as one would like them to be. Well. The bamboo design is attractive and they sound good (but not overwhelming for their size and price). They tend to be a bit harsh and not too strong in the bass, which isn't necessarily the best for most modern music, but overall most of what you play through them sounds good. Eco-friendly materials are also welcome. I remember reading in another review that it's funny that the company is geared towards sustainability but includes power supplies for all regions of the world instead of localization to cut down on unnecessary stuff. There's certainly an element of frivolity in that (the functionality isn't really thought through). Overall I really like them but their confusing functionality is a bit of a shame and the sound is good but could be better. So if you want it/love the brand, just think carefully about how you plan to use them, then read carefully how they work to determine if they're the right fit. They recommended it with some hesitation; Before you buy, make sure they work for you.

Pros
  • Best in their niche
Cons
  • There are issues
