Review on 🚰 CamelBak Chute Mag BPA Free Water Bottle 32 oz, Iris - The Perfect Hydration Companion by Christopher Bates

The old version was way better, at least for me

I got this water bottle because I liked Camelback's old gutter style, but unfortunately this version is way worse, at least for me. It takes 2.5 turns to remove the lid to drink (vs. the very convenient 0.5 turns on the old model), so it takes a lot longer and is annoying, like opening a can of pickles, just let me drink! Then the way the lid attaches and detaches is right of center (as opposed to being perfectly centered on the old model) so you basically can't drink this with your left hand without the lid slamming you in punches in the face a few times. because you can't hold the cap with one hand, it's at least not comfortable. So you basically need two hands to hold this and drink comfortably, or use your right hand. Maybe a left-handed version will come out later? I think this new version is more durable than the old one, so I'm sure a lot of people will like this version that they use in outdoor hiking or something like that. I think a new one will last longer depending on the build. But I mostly use this while playing video games or around the house in general and the old one I have is still very strong, I just wanted a spare/rotary bottle. The old version was the perfect combo for quickly getting a drink by holding it with one hand and then putting it back safely so if it tipped over it wouldn't damage my electronics/computer. I hope to find the old version (or at least the old cap) because the new one is way more uncomfortable for me. Unfortunately. :(

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Could have gone for a newer model
