I did a little research before purchasing to find out what "6 cups" means. So I was prepared for how much real coffee would come out of it. As you know from most coffee makers that say "10 cups" or "12 cups", you never get the normal cup size (Americans, other countries drink coffee in much smaller cups). For the American mug, you can usually halve the published number. This is a good product, works well and is perfect for us. When completely filled, you get about 2.5 full large cups. I love it when there's no coffee on the stove. He gets bitter quickly. Make a few cups and then rinse them out. If you fancy another cup, make a new one. Every cup has premium taste. I have also used this for various loose teas. All in all a good product.
