Review on Uniden 1260BK Black Slimline Caller by Tiffany Correa

It could be better. Best in Landline Phones

Phone cord (straight cord going to wall jack, not twisted from handset to base) is stupidly sewn into the base so you can't just use a longer phone cord. This forces you to either stay within 6 feet of an outlet, or purchase a built-in phone line coupler and an extra length of phone line with jacks on both ends (which will cost a few bucks, so this phone's low price isn't a selling point , if you need it). To be honest it would be much better and hardly more expensive to plug the base station into a standard phone jack and let the customer plug in whatever cable they have (assuming they don't need the 6ft cable that comes with it). The ringer volume is rather quiet even at high volume. And the LCD isn't backlit, so reading requires a well-lit room. And to make matters worse, this display requires batteries, and low batteries make the display weak, so you'll have to swap them out from time to time if you want a sharper, dimmer picture. It also seems silly not to power such a low-power display from the phone's existing power supply. But for what I paid for this phone, it does the job. However, if I had to do it again, I'd go ahead and try to find at least a backlit display and a cable that doesn't connect to the base, even if it costs $10-20 more. By the way, you need a pair of cap screws (not included) if you want to wall mount this unit. The molded plastic back has two notches that slide over the screw heads to hold the device to the wall. Don't forget to flip the small piece of plastic on the front stand so it sticks out more and the tube can hang there. Failure to do so will result in the phone simply slipping off the base.
