I bought this to replace the Fluval 206's inlet and outlet system. I boiled some water and put one of the hoses in a saucepan. Flatten it and let it cool. The hose fits snugly into the canister ports, but works. Just take a cup of hot water, dip the end that you connect to the filter in and let it sit for about 30 seconds. After it gets a little pliable, attach it to the filter and quickly tighten the connecting screws on the canister to secure the hose. No leaks, nothing. Damn tight even without screw caps. If you replace the inlet valve with this, your Fluval's "primary" function will not work as there is no "ball check valve" on the original inlet. Simply hold the water in the tube as you would normally when emptying a canister, release the lever and gravity will suck the water down and fill the canister as usual.
