Official RAM, but overpriced.

I confess that I was very hesitant to buy this RAM because it is overpriced. The only reason I did this is because I'm using a Synology NAS, which is also my home/work NAS and the only officially supported RAM module. I didn't want an apology from Synology if my NAS went down, and I didn't want to risk it because apparently some RAM modules would cause problems. Usually people buy Crucial RAM which seems to work fine for this NAS with little to no issues but I wanted everything to be official. I use the DS218+ and the installation was incredibly easy. All I had to do was power off the NAS, pull out the drives to access the expansion slot, insert the module, latch it, reinsert the drives (make sure you put them back in the same drive bays they came out of). , boot it again and the RAM will be detected. Be sure to upgrade your RAM before doing this. If you're using Synology as your primary NAS, you probably don't need to upgrade. In my case, I use it for network storage, source control, media servers, and more, so I've often limited my RAM. After installation, I noticed a little more air to breathe, which is nice. People seem to be having great success with Crucial RAM, so if you're running a personal NAS, I'll definitely go that route. If it's business you might want to consider using officially supported RAM, but something like Crucial will likely work for you too. Turns out I was hyperparanoid, so I officially left. It's about triple the price and honestly it's not worth the extra cost, but at least there's some level of peace of mind knowing the RAM I'm using is official, but that peace of mind comes at a ridiculous price, so it is Probably not really worth it for most people.
