Review on MSC International 88233 Simply Strawberry by Evan Zurlo

For quickly preparing a large batch of strawberries, as well as slicing for a nice gift, this food slicer comes in very handy. I used an egg slicer but the strawberries stretched the wire too much. I came across this product while looking for a new egg slicer for this purpose. Judging by the look of the metal blades, I was hoping they would last longer than the wire blades. So far I have been satisfied with their work. As other reviewers have said, large berries don't work and may need to be cut in half first, but most berries suit me just fine. If firm, they'll cut cleanly, but soft berries aren't as good. Cutting also requires some strength as the blades really aren't very sharp. If the blades were sharper, soft berries would be much better in my opinion. I've also tried mushrooms with this cut. Although he cuts them, the mushrooms are not as strong and are easier to break. If it were sharper, this probably wouldn't be an issue. All in all it was a useful little tool for me and I'm glad I got my hands on it. I wish the blades were sharper for better performance so I just have to be careful how I use them.
