It took a while to receive as it was from the west coast. Nice camera, for a person with big hands it can be difficult to hold the camera without slipping. Our teenager traded the higher optical zooms of other Lumix cameras for this smaller 3x optical zoom camera. The camera has a plasticky feel, unlike the metal-bodied TZ models. Lightweight, especially with rechargeable lithium batteries that last quite a long time. We have (now) a total of 4 Lumixes in our family, one for each of us. $99 - Lumix upgrade! The 2011 is value for money - so far this camera has performed very well with frequent use by a teenager in all weather and temperature conditions. She says her next camera will be a DSLR! Night mode was tricky, as it required shooting either with a tripod or standing still for several minutes. There are newer models now, but they aren't as cute and light as this one. One of our other Lumixes (TZ3) ended up dying but I've dropped it a couple of times, the case is holding up well and the screen stays intact, it must have loosened internally so it wouldn't turn back on but it's closed expensive send back what to do.
