Doesn't look very big and doesn't take up much space but easily fits most of my Christmas decorations and a few other small items. festive things in it. I don't see how it can protect the most fragile jewelry without any packaging material because the compartments formed by the cardboard strips are quite large. (I don't even own anything that big.) My only other experience with this type of storage has been in my china. The containers I have for china have compartments for cups and crystal made from thin and fragile cardboard. But this particular device has very rigid and thick cardboard dividers. I also like that it has a zippered pocket. Although the contents sometimes move when I'm carrying them, I used bubble wrap and fabric to protect my fragile items from this hazard. To be honest I would have preferred a clear plastic container but I found them outrageously overpriced. They are just ordinary plastic containers with inserted cardboard dividers, with red or green lids. This was cheap in comparison. I placed another full size piece of cardboard on top of the dividers in case I needed to stack them on top of each other, but was still hesitant to put other boxes on top when I was storing all my holiday stuff. Attention! In my experience, unless they're reinforced with some sort of metal clip through all the layers, the handles on these cloth bins come loose easily. It has rivets on each side of its handles. Despite this, I advise you to carry it by your hands and not by the handles, especially if you store fragile things in it.
