Our family is homeschooled and I needed a small shelf that would fit in the tight space next to my desk. We don't have a lot of space to work, so my needs were very specific. I am grateful that I found this piece. It fits perfectly in my space and looks good. The items I have on the shelves are not too heavy. If they were, I don't think this shelving system would work. The bars that connect the shelves are made of very light plastic. This makes this item very easy to move, which can be a plus depending on your needs. If you are looking for durable furniture then this is not it. If you are looking for something that will add character to your space and give you some sort of function then this is it. I might see this in the guest room as a bedside table that isn't used often. I would never let my kids use this because it would be destroyed very quickly. Installation was super quick and easy. Tools are not required at all. I think it will be ok in my living room for what I need. I think the price is fair for this item, although they could probably drop it down to the $20 mark to make it perfect. I would not pay more for this item.
