I originally bought this for my unicycle so I needed something much more powerful than a bike pump that was also light weight and portable and could hold a charge to make it perfect. I don't think it would be that strong because it's so small, but it definitely works well, which is why I use it on my car as well. Although you can use it for anything. It also comes in a nice little case, which is another plus IMO. But my favorite feature is that you just have to ramp it up to your desired psi pressure, screw on the valve and once it reaches your desired psi it stops. I definitely feel like I got my money's worth and then some
