There is 1 Stanley 12ft double sided tape that will compete with this one and I have to get it for comparison but I can make a couple of points about the Adding information from another reviewer: this thing is pretty light, but a lot bulkier than it looks (much thicker even without the side-mounted spring clip). The tape can come back because you can just run it in at speed and then use the friction on the bottom as a brake without risking the end of the tape or your own fingers. I use a reusable construction pencil with rectangular leads, so it's a wasteful mess for me (and the reason I use a red plastic reusable construction pencil with three spare tips on the end is because I chop up trees for disposable pencils). that's obscene!) The tech seems a bit sloppy/untested asa) it really feels like this c could be thinner (and the clip on the side where the top is pressed to close the bottom opening does NOT help) b) it stops at about 1/2 inch before full return as one of the tips - rivets catching on the hole OR the tip itself catching on the hole (or both? seems like it could it actually be both) and the skid marks (gives a dark glitter) lettering is white color/background at least initially, so maybe they used the wrong plastic for the brakes? I find the 1/8 1/16 style much sharper than most tapes, I find the white background a lot easier to read than most tapes, I find it quite light but unwieldy and for me it's a 12 inch tape required in BOTH systems When I get the Stanley equivalent I will update this. If someone needs both systems, compact and quite usable, take them.
